“Hebron has missed its annual Block Party,” said Jena Felten, the President of the Hebron Chamber of Commerce and representative of First Church, “and we are thrilled to bring it back in a big way. The community is really coming together for this event, and I think they are going to be excited to see what their chamber can do for them.”

The Hebron Parks Department ran the original Block Party, but this year the Hebron Chamber of Commerce is taking the wheel. With guidance from past event coordinators like Don Ensign, this year’s Block Party looks to make big waves while keeping the heart of the event the same—bringing the community together.

“The Block Party is just the beginning for the Hebron Chamber,” said Danielle Roeske, the Hebron Chamber Vice President and owner of Salon 618 North, “But it’s going to be a really fun beginning. We’ve received a lot of support, which means this is going to be a Block Party to remember.”

According to Dustin Ritchea, a member of the Hebron Chamber and representative of Indiana Dunes Tourism, the Hebron Chamber is reinventing itself and making some significant strides.

“The work Jena Felten and the rest of the group are doing is really exciting. Indiana Dunes Tourism is always looking for ways to bring locals and visitors to South County, being part of the chamber and helping to put on this event is going to go a long way toward that end.”

Dustin also said that the Chamber is working on a new strategic plan, building a new website, improving its social media presence, and developing new events to connect the business community, elected officials, and residents together in order to improve Hebron's economic vitality.

“If you’re looking to get more involved in Hebron,” said Felten, “then be sure to join the chamber.”
